Join Travel Dukaan on an extraordinary 11-day helicopter tour to the sacred Kailash Mansarovar region, departing from Kathmandu. Begin your journey with a warm welcome in Kathmandu and continue to Nepalgunj, Simikot, Hilsa, and Taklakot (Purang) by helicopter. Spend a day acclimatizing in Taklakot before proceeding to Manasarovar Lake for a holy dip and Parikrama. The highlight of the tour is the Kailash Parikrama, where you’ll trek to the highest point of the yatra, the Dolma-la Pass, and descend to Zuthulphuk. Return to Kathmandu via Simikot, Nepalgunj, and Lucknow, with a buffer day to accommodate any unforeseen delays.
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu.
Upon arrival, you will me meet by our representative at Tribunal International Airport and assist you to transfer to hotel Shangri-la or Crowne Imperial or Similar Kathmandu. (twin sharing)
Day 2: Kathmandu – Fly to Nepalgunj.
Morning sightseeing tour of Pashupatinath darshan and afternoon fly to Nepal Gunj (3650 m) 1hr flight. – Hotel Kalpataru (3 star) or Hotel Siddhartha or Similar at Nepalgunj. (twin sharing)
Day 3: Fly Nepalgunj – Simikot (2870 m) – Hilsa – Taklakot (Purang) (3900 m).
Early morning fly to Simikot by fixed wing plane (1 hr flight) and change over at Simikot to fly further to Hilsa by helicopter (15-20 min flight) and trek 15 min to cross border and drive to Purang / Taklakot (1.5 hour). Overnight at Hotel Himalaya or Hotel Purang in Purang. (3/4 sharing)
Day 4: Full day in Taklakot (Purang)
Full day free for acclimatization. Short treks will be taken in preparation for Parikrama. Overnight at Hotel Himalaya (4 Star) or Hotel Purang in Purang. (3/4 sharing with attached toilet)
Day 5: Taklakot (Purang) to Manasarovar
Morning, Drive to Hor Chu (Manasarovar Lake) – 1.5 hours & start Manasarovar Parikrama 72 kms / 3 hrs. Take holy bath and perform Puja & Hawan at Manasarovar by our Priest (Pujari). Overnight at Paramartha Guesthouse or Similar (Dormitory room without attached toilet) at Chiu Gompa.
Day 6: Drive to Darchen – Tarboche (Yama Dwar) & Trek to Diraphuk (Night at Diraphuk).
After early breakfast, drive to Darchen (1 hrs) and continuous journey to Tarboche (Yama Dwar) – 8 kms / 20 min and start the first day Kailash Parikrama to Diraphuk (13 kms / 6 hrs), light pack lunch on the way. Those who want to go for Charan Sparsh our sherpa staff will assist from Diraphuk camp to take further ahead for Charan Sparsh darshan (as per permission given by Chinese military or guide and depend on your health fitness, we will walk as much nearest possible towards Mt. Kailash, there is certain limitation point from where we have to return back). Dinner & overnight at Shishapangma or Wongda Guesthouse.(Dormitory room)
NOTE:-Yatris who do not go for Parikrama will stay at Hotel Himalaya at Darchen. (3/4 sharing)
Day 7: Trek to Zuthulphuk (4760 M) 22 km / 9 hrs.
This is the day every pilgrims talk about, the most difficult journey throughout the yatra – trek up to the 18,600 ft. (Dolma- la Pass) – descend to Gauri Kunda and further trek along with the river to Zuthulpuk. And those pilgrims who are not going kora ahead will return back to Darchen and if any of return members wish to go Charan Sparsh will get another chance today again. dinner & overnight at Norpel Guesthouse. (Dormitory room)
Day 8: Zuthulphuk – Darchen – Manasarovar / Simikot.
After breakfast we trek around 8 kms / 2 hrs and will be reaching to the point where the jeeps/bus will be waiting for taking us to Darchen. After lunch proceed to Lake Manasarovar (if full moon day) & overnight at Paramartha or Similar Guesthouse.
OR if your program do not meet full moon day on this date then your program will follow our normal itinerary with exit to Hilsa & fly to Simikot. Overnight at Guesthouse in Hilsa or Simikot.
Note:- We will take halt at Manasarovar (Chiu Gompa) when the full moon day lies on this day. Otherwise we will exit to Hilsa & stay there or if time & Helicopter permits we will fly to Simikot & stay there.
Day 9: Drive, Manasarovar to Hilsa and fly to Simikot - Nepalgunj – Lucknow
If your program follow full moon day then you will wake up an early morning & have breakfast then around 8 am, drive to Taklakot with light packed lunch. After the immigration and custom formalities – cross over to Nepal border – drive to Hilsa and fly to Simikot – Nepalgunj. Upon arrival in Nepalgunj, our tour representative will assist you arranging your vehicle to drop Lucknow. Or fly to Kathmandu and Over night at Hotel Shangri-la Kathmandu
Day 10: Free / Buffer Day
If your program follow full moon day then you will wake up an early morning & have breakfast then around 8 am, drive to Taklakot with light packed lunch. After the immigration and custom formalities – cross over to Nepal border – drive to Hilsa and fly to Simikot – Nepalgunj. Upon arrival in Nepalgunj, our tour representative will assist you arranging your vehicle to drop Lucknow. Or fly to Kathmandu and Over night at Hotel Shangri-la Kathmandu
Day 11: Kathmandu & departure to onward destination.
If your program follow full moon day then you will wake up an early morning & have breakfast then around 8 am, drive to Taklakot with light packed lunch. After the immigration and custom formalities – cross over to Nepal border – drive to Hilsa and fly to Simikot – Nepalgunj. Upon arrival in Nepalgunj, our tour representative will assist you arranging your vehicle to drop Lucknow. Or fly to Kathmandu and Over night at Hotel Shangri-la Kathmandu
Shiva’s second home Adi Kailash is approx. 60 KMs before to Mt Kailash & falls in Indian territory. Mt. Adi Kailash is the place where Shiva meditated, halted for 1st night while going for his marriage & Ravana got boon of 10 heads.
Om Mountain in Pithauragarh of Uttrakhand is probably among rare mountains which fall in 3 countries.
